The North Rockland event page is designed to inform our community about local activities going on in the area. Postings on this page will include:

  • North Rockland’s local soccer signups
  • Low Tor bowling league charity events
  • Stony Point Recreation Events
  • PAL Events

Anything happening in the community, and other fun activities that the community can be aware of. Local School plays, fundraisers, guest speakers, and new attractions will also be some of the events that will be listed as well. Joyce Insurance Agency wants to create this page so that our community can be more connected and aware of what is right in our back yard. Listings of NR Events will also be posted on our Facebook page, and sent out to our email listings if you are apart of the mailing list. Youth for Hospice Charity Challenge

United Hospice of Rockland along with the Rockland Boulders will be hosting a Charity Challenge on Friday, June 19th. The baseball game will start at 7pm at Provident Bank Park. Tickets are just $15, and all of the proceeds will benefit United Hospice of Rockland.

YMCA Toddler & Pre-k Summer Camp Program

The Rockland County YMCA will be offering a toddler and pre-k summer camp program at their Suffern location. Four different sessions are being offered: June 29th-July 10th, July 13th- July 24th, July 27th-August 7th, and August 10th-August 21st. Your child can participate from 2-5 days a week! YMCA Summer Dance & Tumbling

The Rockland County YMCA is offering summer sessions for dance and tumbling. They will be catered to three different age groups 3-5, 6-8, 9 and up. The sessions will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and will run from June 27 until August 8th. Sing up now!

UHR Golf Classic

Love golf? Then join the United Hospice of Rockland for their 15th Annual Golf Classic. The event will be held on Monday, June 15th, with registration starting at 9am. The course to be played will be at the Paramount Country Club in New City, New York. All golfers will receive a complimentary pair of designer sunglasses. The two best golfers will win an all expense paid trip to Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina! All proceeds raised during the golf classic will directly support the programs at United Hospice of Rockland.

Stony Point Municipal Pool Opens

The Town of Stony Point will be opening the municipal pool on Saturday, June 27th. Hours of operation will be from 12-7pm daily(weather permitting). A season pass for Stony Point residents is $10.00. Senior Stony Point residents get free season passes. Click on he picture above for the registration form. YMCA Adult Ballet Classes

The Rockland County YMCA in Nyack is offering adult elementary ballet classes for ages 18 and up! It is meant as a program for exercise and fun. The classes will be held every Friday night from 6:45pm-8:15pm. Sign up now!

Rockland Theater Company Kids-Summer 2015

Have a child interested in theater and the arts? Enroll them in the Rockland Company Theater Kids’ summer camp program! The plays being produced this summer include Disney’s Jungle Book Kids, Shrek the Musical Jr., and “Once upon a time…” Each production caters to different age groups. Stony Point Playground Program

The Town of Stony Point will be holding a summer Playground Program from July 6th-August 14th. It will be from 10am-1:30pm. The cost for town residents is $60 per week and non residents is $80 per week. Resgistration must be completed by June 27th! Activities include dodgeball, kickball, wiffleball, softball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, karaoke, arts & crafts, and even a carnival during the last week of camp! YMCA 7th Annual Golf Outing

Join the Rockland County YMCA in their 7th Annual Golf Outing at the Phillip J. Rottella memorial Golf Course! It will be held on Thursday, July 30th, wih check-in starting at 8am and tee off starting at 9am. Lunch will be included! All proceeds will benefit youth and teen development programs that will e sponsored by the YMCA.


Stony Point Swim Lessons

Stony Point Recreation will be holding swimming lessons at the municipal pool. There are five 45 minute lessons at a cost of $125. The lessons will take place Monday-Friday, between 11am-6pm. There are five different sessions being offered: June 29th – July 3rd, July 6th- July 10th, July 13th- July 17th, July 20th- July 24th, and July 27th-July 31st. The North Rockland Red Raiders midget football and cheer sign-ups are here! Registration will take place at the West Haverstraw Community Center. You can begin the registration process online now!

YMCA Hiking Club

The Rockland YMCA has brought their Hiking Club for another year! As of right now, there are three hikes scheduled: Saturday, June 20th – High Tor Park to High Tor Mountain (4.5 miles round trip), Sunday, July 12th – High Tor to Mount Ivy(6.5 miles round trip), and Sunday, August 23rd – Lake Skannatati o Big Hill Shelter (7.4 miles round trip). Stony Point PAL Bike Safety Day

The Stony Point PAL will be hosting a Bike Safety Day on Saturday, June 20th. The event will take place at Charles E. Eccher Park from 10am-2pm. There will games, food, activities, safety demonstrations, as well as a BMX stunt show by Dialed Action Sports Team. Admission is free!

Bear Mountain Summer Concert Series

Bear Mountain State Park will be hosting a free summer concert every third Thursday of the month! This month’s concert will be featuring the Amish Outlaws on June 18th starting at 7pm. Parking will be free after 4pm. Bring blankets and chairs!


Bear Mountain Fireworks

Bear Mountain State Park will kicking off Independence Day a bit early this year! On Friday, June 26th, the park will be holding their annual fireworks display starting at 8pm. There will be food and entertainment. The fireworks will start right after sunset, so try to get there early with your blankets and chairs.
